Beauty Services Making Our Residents Feel Fabulous

It's so important for us, as a long-term care facility, to offer services that enhance our residents' quality of life, give them a sense of independence, and allow them to keep the normal routines they would typically have outside of our facility. Allowing our residents to look and feel their best is a special kind of service that Venetian Gardens proudly offers.

Our wonderful beautician, Ashley Warner, is the founder of The Geriatric Hair Care Organization, a non-profit that provides free haircuts, washes, styling, and scalp treatments for seniors who otherwise cannot afford them. Ashley also brings her skills to Venetian Gardens to serve our residents by operating Venetian Salon twice a week offering luxury services such as hair coloring, perms, and roller sets, as well as basic hygienic services such as haircuts, washes, and detangles.



For two years, Ashley has reconstructed the salon operations in a way where all residents have pre-booked appointments to ensure everyone has a reserved space on the list if they choose to be seen. This is also to help those who cannot voice their needs to maintain a kept haircut and healthy scalp. We're so honored to have someone like Ashley at our facility who is so caring and generous with her time and talents.

“Venetian Gardens is special to me because both of my great-grandmothers lived there. We have celebrated holidays at Venetian and our most vulnerable moments together as a family took place right there in the building. So, when I got the opportunity to serve the residents and offer them quality hair care, I wanted it to be in honor of Betty Ball and Florence Rice. I can make sure the residents feel the same love my grannies gave me.

It’s important to me that the residents feel good about their appearance. When we look good on the outside, we feel good on the inside, and that promotes longevity. That is why I started The Geriatric Hair Care Organization so everyone has an equal opportunity to salon services and to assist in the quality care for residents,” shared Ashley.

The staff, residents, and family members here at Venetian Gardens want to thank Ashley for dedicating her time, compassion, and kindness to our beloved residents. You make a world of difference to more people than you'll ever know.
