At Venetian Gardens, we not only strive for great clinical outcomes, but also exceeding resident & family expectations. A recent family had many great words to say about their loved one's stay at Venetian Gardens.
"My mother, Alice, was a resident at Venetian Gardens for almost 26 months. She passed away very peacefully on January 18 surrounded by her family. We feel that it's very important to acknowledge all those individuals who cared for her with love and compassion during the last two years of her life. It's hard to express how indebted we feel to the wonderful nurses and aides that were her "angels" every day in the 200 wing. We need to recognize the staffs professionalism but what stands out above all else was the patience, thoughtfulness, and loving care that were always evident. Although everyone in 200 was an important part of the caring team, we think it's important to give a "shout-out" to the following people:
Christie Harrison: who was always responsive to any questions, concerns or needs.
200 nurses: Maria (now gone), Linda, Sue, and Jamie. We had total confidence In this group. They were always on top of every situation. Wonderful to work with. So approachable. Never felt that any request or question was a bother.
It's our understanding that Linda Heine will be retiring in February. What a loss for the Venetian. No matter how chaotic or stressful a day or situation may be, Linda always performs in the same steady, take-control manner. She was our "rock". The relationship that we formed with her was based on the utmost trust. We were lucky to have her.
200 aides: They are truly angels. We can't say enough about their professionalism, compassion, consistency, and caring nature. Marjay, Tina, Carol, Cindy, Jen, Tracy, Bre, Becca (now gone), Shelby, Brittany, Calista, just to name a few.
The night-time staff: The nurses, Jean and Renee. The aides, Patti, Nicole, Sharrie. And some names we don't know. We really never met these "unsung heroes" because we visited during the day. These are the people that tucked Mom in and made sure that she was comfortable and safe all through the night.
Other support members: We would be remiss without mentioning other people who touched Mom's life.
Therapy Group. Everyone who worked with Mom showed such patience and care. Nancy was especially supportive to Mom but also to us, helping us with transport and transfer issues. Melissa and Jessica tried so hard to find an answer to swallowing problems. Bailey, Joe, and Rhonda were always encouraging.
Housekeeping Staff: Always caring and thoughtful as they performed their daily functions keeping Mom' room clean and tidy. Need to especially point out, Dorothy H. (now gone). What a hard worker and what a delight! She noticed the small birdhouses in Mom's room and would add to the collection from time to time. She was so kind and thoughtful.
Last and not least, Christina Williams, What an asset to your organization. Christina is so knowledgeable.
She was an invaluable resource to us. Christina was always available to answer questions, to point us in the right direction. We never encountered her when she didn't have a smile on her face. Never seemed harried or that you were bothering her even though I know she had a desk plied high with work.
Thanks to all the special people who are part of the Venetian team. We made the right decision when we chose Venetian Gardens for the care of mother.
Sincerely
Sandy & Tom"
